We had sat waiting for the test results for nearly a month. During that time we met with a surgeon about removing the tumor. From his viewpoint it was cancer. The surgery to remove it was quite extensive and had a long road to recover. But, he couldn’t do it until August, and this was June. We could do nothing but wait.
Around the first of July the word came it wasn’t cancer but an auto-immune disease. What a relief! All we wanted to do was praise the Lord! And we did just that! But, then…..
The end of August came around. Jay called us from Boswell to tell us he really felt bad. It is difficult at best to determine what is real or just wanting to come home. His caregiver there was less than helpful. Monday finally came and they took him to the Dr. Xray’s were taken and blood test. She called his gastroenterologist in Jackson and he said he wanted him in Jackson right away. We met the transport team at the hospital and testing began. By the end of the day the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Not only the diagnosis but the CT scan showed his liver fully involved. STAGE 4! The testing and procedures continued throughout the week. The news was the same……
