Troubled Days

Some days, after a loved one passes away, are not easy. Some days are like a sitting on a beach with an ocean breeze and others are stormy and a threat to our mere survival. But we put one foot in front of the other and push on.

As we step by step move farther away from the passing day, we hope for more than just sadness or anger or the feeling of abandonment, we hope for a feeling of joy. The joy we once had but didn’t actually know we had it until it was lost. Life was just normal. We rocked along as if nothing bad would happen. But it did! A phone call, a knock at the door, a diagnosis, all can change everything about us. Who we once were and who we will be.

Recent days have brought this sadness and unbearable heartache to people I know and to my community. 1 Thessalonians 4, beginning in vs 13 gives us hope. of the resurrection so that we don’t grieve hopelessly.
